Add a PI Server in PI SDK Utility

Add a PI Server in PI SDK Utility on the FactoryTalk ViewPoint server to show the OSIsoft® PI Server™ data on the trace of a TrendPro object.

Prerequisites

• On the FactoryTalk ViewPoint server, install FactoryTalk Historian Connectivity using FactoryTalk ViewPoint installation package.
• On the PI Server, create a trust using the application name ViewPoint.Server.Historian.WindowsService.exe. For more information about creating a trust, see PI Server Help.

To add a PI Server in PI SDK Utility on the FactoryTalk ViewPoint server

1. From Windows Start menu, select All apps > Rockwell Software > AboutPI-SDK.
2. In PI SDK Utility, select Connections > Add Server.
3. In the Add PI Server dialog box, enter the PI Server computer name or IP address, and then click OK.

After the PI Server is added, it shows in the Connections list. Select the server check box to connect to the server and then re-publish graphic displays for this change to take effect.
