Change tag values at run time

If the logged in user has write permissions to a display, objects on the display can change tag values at run time. When the tag value is changed, a status message indicates whether the tag write completed successfully. If the tag write does not complete successfully, an error message is shown.

NOTE

Tip: The status bar appears at the bottom of the display as a default. Click the "x" to close the status bar.

Tag values can be changed using the following graphic objects:

  • Push buttons:
    • Momentary
    • Maintained
    • Multistate
    • Interlocked
    • Ramp
  • String input objects
  • Control list selectors
  • Numeric input objects

Push buttons and control list selectors behave identically to their FactoryTalk View counterparts.
