String input object at run time
At run time, a string input object allows a user with display write permissions to enter a string. The string is written to a tag in an external device or tag database, as designed in FactoryTalk View Studio.

Tip: If the graphic display is set up to use the on-screen keyboard, pressing Enter brings up the on-screen keyboard. On mobile operating systems, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, and Windows Server 2019 operating systems, the device keyboard appears automatically when a string input object is selected. |
